Idyll Vineyard 2005 Shiraz

Reviews by James Halliday, Max Crus, Paddy Kendler & Phillip Stubbs

James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2008

Rating 87, Recommended. Wines of above-average quality, fault-free and with clear varietal expression. A complex wine with sweet fruit and some slightly feral notes; needs time to gain coherence.

Max Crus Grand Final Review October 2007

Tres sexy label with tres trendy colours you would never expect from Cats supporters - actually they’re more Port colours, without the teal. It got a thrashing too. 8.4/10

Paddy Kendler Herald Sun 14 August 2007

The Littore Shiraz from Idyll, the oldest vineyard in the region, features enticing mulberry and blackberry aromas with hints of spice and earth. Satisfying flavours including various red and black berries with fine, soft tannin.

Phillip Stubbs Geelong Advertiser 21 July 2007

A very typical Geelong Shiraz with earthy pepper notes on a garnet coloured wine. Medium bodied the spicy characters continue showing dark berries and savoury meaty flavours with toasty subtle tannins in the background. Pleasing alcohol and acid balance rounding out a dry dusty finish. 8/10
